Do It and It's Done

I'm borrowing this as my mantra for my life from now on. No more procrastinating.

To start my new life I went for a run this morning. Hard not to feel positive
when the sun is shining and you're surrounded by spring finally springing.

I got a bit distracted on the run and had to take some photos. I ran about 7k in
about an hour but I'm blaming all the stopping for my slow pace rather than my
(lack of) fitness.

So here are all the beautiful and not so beautiful things that I saw. Sometimes
I could forget that I live on a main road within the M25 as you can feel a
million miles away. Glad I got out in the sunshine as it's now grey.

So if you're looking at, or thinking about things that you want to do this weekend:

Pick one and then do it- and it's done.

Exterior Project 01- Back Garden

This is my back garden at the moment: looks a bit bare...
hopefully in a month or so it'll be full of flowers and sunshine.

This panoramic is thanks to my new sparkly version of photoshop. So much easier than having to patch them together yourself!

Ribbon and Pearl Bracelet

Mmm what a grey Monday. Before the weekend I started some new styles,
after my visit to a local haberdashery. Here is the first bracelet in white
pearls and black ribbon... Very simple and sophisticated.
More to follow which will probably be more colourful to brighten up this grey day...

I Heart Haberdashery

Yesterday I discovered this little gem near where I live. Sorry about the drive-by
style first photo but I couldn't stop when driving.

On my list of things to buy was some ribbon for my newest projects. I could have
bought a lot more. Reminds me of my childhood thanks to my mum and her love of
making things. So here are my purchases- and I've started making already.

And I know that I'm going to be back to Peacocks again soon...

An Australian Afternoon Brew

Not quite the right time for this but it's definitely time for a little pick-me-up... Aussie style.
Thank you Christiane!

A Beautiful Tulip Victim

After one of my lovely tulips fell victim to one my rather enthusiastic children
I have done a photographic study of it. Sorry if there are any photographers
reading this as I'm sure the photos are rather amateurish but it is such a
stunning flower I felt I had to record it.

Interiors Project 02 Work In Progress

It's taking a while but I'm getting there with the Hall, Stairs and Landing. Nearly got all the paint off the posts and handrails, I just need to sand it all down and paint again... Oh and remove the carpet, repair the parquet flooring... not much then. The paint samples are Dulux: Chic Shadow, Illusion and Calm Sea. Still undecided about the paint colours though.

Interiors Mini Project 01 Toilet Roll Holder

OK so it's not the most exciting mini-project to start with but it's something I've wanted to do since I moved into this house: the toilet roll dispenser in the main bathroom. I really like the deco styling but the pale NHS blue shiny paint (which the whole bathroom is currently painted) is horrible. I'm hoping the chrome under all the layers of paint will be in good enough condition to leave it as that although I suspect it may need painting in some way...

Slowly slowly all the layers of paint come off and... dammit. The chrome isn't very nice.

I think the new look for this is going to be a Pewter metallic on the chrome, white gloss on the steel rod and maybe a bit of a stain on the timber to darken it up. Watch this space for the 'after' shots once I've decided on and sourced all the paint.
